Benetti has handed over the latest addition to their displacement range of superyachts earlier this month, the 35.5m Oli. Hull number one of the new Mediterraneo 116 line, which was first unveiled during the 2015 Cannes Yachting Festival, is now cruising the Mediterranean and is ready to be officially premiered in two weeks’ time during this year’s Cannes boat show.
The 35.5-metre yacht, designed by Giorgio Cassetta, is characterised by a slender profile while still offering guests generous indoor and outdoor spaces, spread across three decks. Benetti’s advances in the use of glass on board their custom superyachts have trickled down into this segment of their fleet and can be best appreciated from inside the main saloon onboard the 116. Here, three-metre-tall glass sides create a luminous environment inside – a theme that is very apparent throughout the entire yacht.
Keeping to their trusted layout, Benetti has placed the owner’s suite forward on the main deck, while the eight additional guests will retire in comfort to their cabins awaiting below deck. The sun deck outside is completely customisable to suit each client’s usage needs.
The Mediterraneo 116’s twin Man 1,400 hp engines deliver a top speed of 15 knots and at an economical speed of 10 knots, she will reach 3,000 nautical miles.
