Following the official handover of the new 107-metre Benetti Lana that took place last week, one of the yard’s largest yachts ever built is preparing for her maiden voyage from Livorno. The 3,900 GT Lana will now exclusively join the Imperial charter fleet who also worked as owner’s representatives and build supervisors during the construction of FB277. Photo: Imperial
Over the past winter months, Benetti worked at adding the final touches to the vessel, including new features as requested by the client that involved adding two state-of-the-art Kongsberg wing stations. During this period, the complex systems carried on board were tested together with the respective manufacturers from England, Sweden and Norway. Photo: ImperialPhoto: Benetti & Imperial
Designed in-house by Benetti, Lana’s naval platform is the work PierLuigi Ausonio Naval Architecture (PLANA). The two diesel-electric engines on board have a power output of 2,800 kW each, pushing Lana to a top speed of 18.5 knots. At a comfortable 12 knots she is able to cover over 5,500 nautical miles without having to refuel.
“I am absolutely satisfied with the work done by Benetti and Imperial together,” commented the yacht’s owner. “Lana represents a statement of building excellence, every technical feature, every aesthetic element, every single detail was executed to perfection. I am glad we all made this way to prove a new level of Italian shipbuilding industry.”Photo: Benetti & Imperial
Lana will be operated by a crew of 34. Up to 12 guests can be accommodated on board in eight suites, seven of which are VIP cabins located along the main deck while the master suite takes up a prime position on the bridge deck. Here, a fixed balcony on either side of the full-beam cabin adds another dimension to this living space where guests can enjoy a private view of the surroundings. Elsewhere, Lana comes with a large swimming pool on the sun deck forward and a wellness centre with a massage room, hammam and gym. Interior and exterior downlights around the vessel by Cantalupi Lighting sets the mood on board as the sun goes down. Photo: Benetti & ImperialPhoto: Benetti & Imperial
Imperial’s Director, Julia Stewart commented: “Being linked to the second 100m+ superyacht ever delivered in Italy by the private shipyard Benetti is a pride that we share with the builder. It was a pleasure to collaborate once again with their professional teams and their dynamic behaviour in a proactive atmosphere.”Photo: Benetti & ImperialPhoto: Benetti & Imperial
“Lana is an example of excellence: outstanding quality, unique style, and an icon of Made in Italy,” said Benetti’s President, Paolo Vitelli. “A particular thanks to the Owner who trusted Benetti for this creation. We are happy to have met all his expectations.”
