It has been a special day for Benetti today – a day of celebration. The Italian builders baptised its 44.06-metre Lucky Wave in champaign and launched her under the gaze of an onlooking crowd from the historic 56-metre slipway at the brand’s shipyard in Viareggio.
This is the third unit from the Benetti 44-metre Diamond line – the builder’s fibreglass flagship model – to bless the seas. Lucky Wave is Italian through-and-through. She has an exterior designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta, an interior penned by Salvagni Architetti and a naval architecture constructed by her builder, Benetti. Lucky Wave is very generous for space and features a 102 square metre sun deck, the largest in her category. With an interior volume of 172 gross tonnage she can comfortably host up to 10 guests alongside her five crew members. Under the hull sits twin MAN engines which generate enough power to give her a cruising speed of 12 knots.
