During our visit to the Antibes Yacht Show and the MYBA show in Nice we visited several motor and sail yachts. We already brought you a selection of the best sail yachts for sale in the Mediterranean and this week we show you a selection of the best available motor yachts.
58 Metres of pure entertaining space. No other yacht in her category can match Magna Grecia's sundeck, which is equipped with professional lighting and audio systems and has been strengthened for use as a helideck.
The white, contemporary, Italian interior has huge sofas, laidback dining areas and a full-beam owner’s suite with a 55” plasma screen.
12 Guests sleep in 4 doubles and 2 twin cabins. Unquestionably the most interesting yacht of her size and style. Guests are taken care of by her highly professional crew of 12. Magna Grecia is for sale through Edmiston, asking $23.000.000.
In Nice, we were able to visit Mayan Queen, a 1990 Feadship built at the Van Lent shipyard in Holland. Mayan Queen benefited from a mayor refit in 2001 at Derecktor Shipyards in the United States, adding 3.58 meters to her length. This extension resulted in a much larger aft deck than was originally planned. Her aft deck, protected from the wind by sliding screens, now has room for a dining area, as well as a large lounging area.
Through the double sliding doors on her aft deck, you enter the main salon. In her days as Alfa Alfa III, Mayan Queen featured brightly coloured furniture, in shades of purple. These days however, Mayan Queen's interior is toned down to neutral sand colours, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Moving forward, through the open plan dining room, one enters the main lobby. From here, two sets of stairs lead down to the lower deck. The aft stairs lead to her four guest cabins, whereas the forward stairs lead down to a full beam VIP cabin. Forward of the lobby, one enters the owner's cabin through a study. The large cabin with his' and hers' ensuite bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes features bleached oak panelling, and is equipped with an excellent entertainment system.
Up one level, on the bridge deck, there is another salon situated behind the wheelhouse and captain's cabin. With her two tenders launched, the upper aft deck becomes a huge open deck, perfectly suited for a large party. On the sundeck above, a large Jacuzzi, and two L-shaped settees dominate the deck. Although 17 years old, this Feadship remains in perfect condition. For sale through Nigel Burgess at 17.385.000 Euros.
One of the finest semi-displacement yachts of her size, Desamis B has been impeccably maintained. MCA certified, fitted with zero speed stabilisers and recently repainted in 2004. Her open decks are amongst the largest of any 40 meter yacht. A sunbathers heaven, with large sunpads providing the perfect spot to spend a lazy sun filled Mediterranean day, where her Jacuzzi will provide the occasional cooling down.
Filled with natural light, Terence Disdale’s interior has pale fabrics and only the finest leather, oak panelling and marble surfaces.
Eleven guests enjoy the comfort of her cabins. The owners cabin on the main deck features a his' and hers' bathroom, as well as a small study. The window blinds give the whole room a tropical cabanna feel.
Special mention should be made of the galley. Fully equipped with professional high quality Zanussi appliances, designed to produce top restaurant quality meals.
This 40 meter Benetti, with the feel of a much larger yacht, is offered for 11.750.000 Euros by Edmiston.
Jon Bannenberg styling gives Opal C a highly distinctive profile. Unusual exterior spaces include both a forward and aft sun deck as well as a fly bridge Jacuzzi deck.
Huge portholes fill the interior with light and create floor to ceiling circular windows in the main saloon. The circular dining area has full height sliding glass doors linking up to the aft deck. Considerable entertaining space with dramatic exterior styling.
Sud was built in 1999 by a rather unknown Italian shipyard, Fratelli Rossi-Clemma, but she didn’t fail to impress us. Sud offers enormous outside areas both in the sun and the shade.
The saloon is on the main deck with two comfortable sitting areas. In the dining room, situated on the upper deck, guests may enjoy the uninterrupted 180 degrees view.
Sud offers accommodation for 10 guests with the master stateroom with private study and ensuite bathroom forward on the main deck. Below on the lower deck are four more cabins, 1 Vip and 3 twin cabins.
Abrouq was launched by Cantieri di Pisa in 2003 and offers distinctive and traditionally branded exterior lines.
Her geometric, contemporary interior by designer Ivana Porfiri incorporates original use of lighting, wall and floor coverings and textures.
The large open plan living area is exceptionally light and airy and five well appointed cabins comfortably accommodate 10 guests. After only light, family use Abrouq is in impeccable condition. For sale at 10.800.000 Euros by YCO.
Sun Glider II
Sun Glider II, an 2006 ISA 120, was on display in both Antibes and Nice, and is for sale by her brokers Edmiston. Driven by waterjets to a top speed of 30 knots, her twin 2000 HP MTU 2000 M91 12V diesels allow for a cruising speed of 28 knots.
She has a beautiful modern interior to match her exterior lines. The main deck features a large dining room situated aft of the salon, with a bar dividing the dining room from the lounging area.
The unusual on deck owner's cabin forward on the main deck has large split level bathroom, as well as a walk-in wardrobe. There are 3 more guest cabins to be found on the lower deck, as well as crew cabins for her crew of 6, lead by captain Damian 'Stan' Sharp.
The huge sundeck, reached by a pair of open symmetrical stairs (an ISA trademark), features a Jacuzzi to starboard, a bar, sunpads, and a large lounging area. By storing her tender below deck, her sundeck is left open for guests to enjoy. Sun Glider II is for sale for a very competitive 13.5 mil Euros.
Onda features generous and attractive deck spaces, complimented with a sophisticated and elegant interior.
Four large guest cabins each have an ensuite bathroom and Onda boasts a unique cinema/mezzanine area which proves very popular with Owner and guests alike. Powered by triple 2000 HP MTU 16 V 2000 M91 Diesels, she easily maintains a top speed of 35 knots. She is for sale through YCO at 8.200.000 Euros.
Paragon, built and designed for her current owner, powers along at 24 knots and is arguably one of the finest 100’+ yacht on the market.
Her enormous fly bridge has a highly unusual circular lounging area.
What distinguishes Paragon from every other yacht in this category is her Don Starkey interior – a brilliant fusion of Japanese and art deco themes. Entertainment is provided through her centralised Linn system.
Guests sleep in a full beam master, a VIP and two twin cabins. Arguably the ideal Mediterranean yacht. Available for 7.975.000 Euros. For more information please contact Edmiston.
At 33.45 meters, she offers plenty of space to her ten guests, and crew of five. Guests are accommodated in a large owners suite, complete with Jacuzzi, a VIP cabin, and two rather large twin cabins.
Her three engines give her a total of 4.800 HP, pushing her along at a top speed of 28 knots. Her hull and superstructure are built in Mahogany. Samora's Dandy is offered at $ 3.850.000 by her Greek central agent.
Oscar 2, a 2006 Magusta 105 open was on display by her brokers, Edmiston. The combination of the racy open sport boat looks, and a clever layout design make Mangusta 105's some of the worlds most sought after models available on today’s market.
The yachts main saloon features oversized sofa's and benefits from her position in front of the bridge, allowing wonderful 180 degree views through forward facing windows. Up one level, just behind her state of the art wheelhouse, is her main dining area, and a bar. A retractable sunroof offers either shade and protection to the sun, or can be opened to enjoy a diner under the stars. Her large aft deck hides a large Jacuzzi under the sunbeds. Twin stairs lead down to her bathing platform.
Below decks, where one would normally find 4 guest cabins on a Mangusta 105, you'll find just 3 cabins. Compared to other Mangusta 105's, the cabins on Oscar 2 are very large. The owners cabins is positioned amidships, taking up her 6.9m beam. There is another Double cabin in the bow of the ship, and a twin cabin to starboard.
Oscar 2 is arguably the finest 105 on the market, at just 9.500.000 Euros.
Refreshing, the magic word on board Sarama. Her modern, light and colourful interior is far from traditional. 7 Guests are accommodated on board, in large stylish cabins.
Built in aluminium by the famous Baglietto shipyard in 2003, Sarama is powered by twin MTU diesels, taking her to a top speed of 29 knots. At a still exhilarating cruising speed of 26 knots, her range is 900nm. Her sundeck, with loose furniture is kept clear for entertaining, as her tender is stored in a special locker on the foredeck, out of view. Her sophisticated bridge offers excellent visibility to the captain, and is fitted with the latest in technology.
