At the Monaco Yacht Show I met up with Dörries Maritime Services, who have recently presented a range of motor yacht platforms from 50 to 90 metres. The first two platforms to be ready is a 85 metre, with a gross tonnage of 2750 GT, designed by award winning H2 Yacht Design and based on M/Y Graceful.
The new 85 metre superyacht will have a 130 square metre owner's cabin with private office and gym, 2 Vip cabins with balconies, a 150 square metre beachclub with sea-terraces, a 65 square metre spa, owners and guest entrance on lower deck, a tender garage for two 11m tenders and heli pad.
Another platform that has been developed is for a 58 metre superyacht, also designed by H2. Both yachts have been designed and engineered in such a way, that the yard can keep construction time as low as possible. From signing a contract to delivery, will take around 36 months.
Working with a group of co-builders, Dörries will be constructing yachts at a brand new facility in Bremerhafen. The yard's founder, mr. Dörries, is no stranger when it comes to building large yachts, having already managed the build some of the world's largest yachts, such as Al Salamah.
The company is currently also undertaking a refit of a 130 metre superyacht.
