Billy Joel donates yacht to marine conservation

American musician and composer, Billy Joel, has donated his yacht to the International Seakeepers Society. The 57-foot Vendetta, built by Derecktor in 2005, was listed for sale at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March earlier this year through Northrop & Johnson at $1,195,000.


The International SeaKeepers Society works with the yachting community to promoteoceanographic research, conservation, and education and provides yacht owners and crew the unique opportunity to advance marine sciences and to raise awareness about global ocean issues.

β€œThe International SeaKeepers Society greatly appreciates such a generous gesture by Mr. Billy Joel to support an incredibly worthy cause,” said Chairman of the Board of The International SeaKeepers Society Michael Moore. SeaKeepers President/CEO, Richard Snow,added: β€œWe are forever grateful for this donation and would like to thank yacht broker Bruce Leffers of Northrop & Johnson for assisting to make this happen.”
