In this series of articles, we take a look at the best brokerage deals currently on the market, as judged by our very own editors. What, Why, Where and Who will form the basis of the articles. This week, we have taken a closer look at the 30 metre superyacht, Sofia II.
What is on offer?
Built by Netherlands based Moonen Shipyards and launched in 2008, Sofia II is a 30 metre displacement motor yacht. She boasts naval architecture by the renowned Diana Yacht Design, as well as exterior designs by René van der Velden Yacht Design, and luxurious interiors by Art Line.
She accommodates up to eight guests in total over four generous cabins. Guests are accommodated forward in a VIP cabin as well as an additional two twin cabins. Located on the lower deck, the opulent owner’s suite comes with an en-suite bathroom and is spacious and welcoming. She also accommodates up a crew of up to three.
Why do we think this is such a great deal?
Sofia II is the second vessel in the multiple award winning Moonen 97 range, and has only had one experienced owner since her delivery. Amongst her many amenities and facilities on board are several water toys and tenders, ZeroSpeed at anchor stabilisers, underwater lights and a magnificent sun deck where guests can enjoy the best of al fresco dining.
Powered by twin Caterpillar C18 DITA diesel engines, she has a maximum speed of 13 knots, and a cruising speed of 12 knots. Her 27,650 litre fuel tanks give her a transatlantic range of 4,500 nm at 9 knots, ensuring that owners can use her to effectively explore the world. She is Lloyd’s Register and MCA approved and is a typical Moonen superyacht.
Where is she right now?
Sofia II is in Fort Lauderdale, where she is available for private visits with potential clients.
Who to call?
She is listed for sale with Moonen, at an asking price of €6.9 million.
