Burger Boat awards contract to Palladium Technologies

Burger Boat Company has awarded contracts to Palladium Technologies to supply state-of-the-art fully integrated monitoring, alarm and control systems for three new megayachts under construction at the company’s shipyard in Wisconsin.

The three latest Burgers to be fitted with Palladium’s SiMON system are the 144-ft. classic fantail cruiser M/Y Sycara (Hull 500) and the “twin” 127-ft. tri-deck motoryachts M/Y Areti I and Areti II (Hulls 505 and 506).

The SiMON systems to be fitted on Sycara will include more than 600 sensor points, monitoring the yacht’s propulsion engines and gearboxes, generator sets, HVAC systems, tank levels, bilge and fire alarms and all other points that are monitored for pressure, temperature and liquid quantity or level. The system will take advantage of SiMON’s rich graphical presentation screens to display real-time and historical trend charts and analysis software. Monitoring stations will be installed in the wheelhouse and engine room, with a remote alarm display in the crew’s mess. Alarm outputs will be fitted throughout the yacht. A specially designed closed system has been designed by Palladium for monitoring under-deck sensors.

Areti I and Areti II will be equipped with similar SiMON programs configured to their installed systems and subsystems.

“SiMON is rapidly becoming known as the preferred monitoring, alarm and control solution for new megayachts,” said Michael Blake, president of Palladium Technologies. “During the first half of 2007, we have seen a surge in new contracts from major U.S. megayacht builders, including Burger, Trinity, Broward and others. This is an increase of 300 percent over the same period last year.”
