The Rosetti Marino Group, according to rumours collected by Shipping Italy and SUPER YACHT 24, may soon be due to close down its shipbuilding division. The rumours have suggested that the San Vitale shipyard in Ravenna will be acquired by the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4876" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Group (Company)">Ferretti Group</a>, but representatives from the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4876" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Group (Company)">Ferretti Group</a> have so far denied these rumours. Attempts, however, to reach out to members of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4643" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Rosetti Superyachts (Company)">Rosetti Superyachts</a>, the superyacht branch of the Rosetti Marino Group, have shown that email accounts appear to have been closed or frozen.Many in the superyacht industry have been expecting the announcement over coming months, particularly since Alberto Galassi, CEO of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4876" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Group (Company)">Ferretti Group</a> hinted at an upcoming expansion in late 2022. KPS Capital Partners acquires equity interest in Princess Yachts

KPS Capital Partners has acquired a controlling equity interest in UK-based yacht builder Princess Yachts.

According to the online publication Sky News, UK-based yacht builder <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1912" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Princess Yachts (Company)">Princess Yachts</a> is set to be acquired by KPS Capital Partners. Rebecca, originally from England, brings over two decades of experience in the yachting industry to her new role. Prized as the “most extreme and advanced 80-HT yet” thanks to the client's specifications. The sold <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2612" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Otam (Company)">OTAM</a> yacht has an expected delivery in 2025.&nbsp;The owner, who is not just “an expert owner but also has experience as a captain,” supplied the Genoa-based shipyard with customised specifications, including expansive windows to envelope the boat with natural light and a “detailed list of technical and aesthetic requests.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/263522/image/large-77da9293d81bfb2529b9c143f8a9323d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/263522">The custom-built 80HT comprises a hull and deck, which will be laminated in full Kevlar, while the superstructure is constructed from carbon fibre. The result is an exceptionally strong and rigid structure, which is also lightweight for higher performance in terms of top speed and fuel consumption.
