Over recent months the scale model of Soliloquy – the super-green superyacht has captured the imagination of many current owners and aspiring onlookers alike - whilst on display during the Monaco Yacht Show at the Lürssen Yachts stand and also at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show on the Camper and Nicholsons International stand.
Her designer, Alastair Callender, of the UK firm Callender Designs, is now pleased to be able to announce that he has been invited to display his model and designs of Soliloquy, throughout the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show this week.
“The opportunity to have continued exposure of my innovative design at one of the most exclusive superyacht events in the world is a terrific opportunity to attract a potential client to commission her. I am exhibiting to express all the benefits of a Super-Green Superyacht, thanks to the state-of-the-art technology from Solar Sailor Ltd.
“It seems most fitting to display in Abu Dhabi, because an original influence for this design came from Abu Dhabi’s sustainable Masdar City. The green and carbon neutral attributes of this current development in the UAE, has been echoed in Soliloquy’s unique design ethos. I am thrilled that this eco-superyacht concept will now be on show in the area of the world from which the influence first began.”
This eco-vessel will harness the power of the sun and the wind thanks to a collaboration with the state-of-the-art technology firm, Solar Sailor Ltd. of Australia. Solar Sailor's proven technology, (which is currently used in commercial vessels) provides this stunning yacht the ability to be emission-free, running up to 8 knots on solar energy alone. This has numerous advantages, not least providing significantly reduced running costs.
A successful collaboration with Jensen Interiors Ltd./Simon Hamilton Associates has resulted in an eco-luxurious interior design concept, to echo Soliloquy’s whole ethos.
“Since Monaco we have refined the interior design concept further” says David Jensen, Chairman of Jensen Interiors. “The market in Abu Dhabi is essential for us. The building of the Masdar and Ghantoot ‘green cities’ and focus on environmentally sensitive and sustainable building, means our opportunity is enormous to contribute to a range of on-shore developments as well as yachts like Soliloquy.”
Alastair Callender and his Interior Design colleagues will be available for meetings between February 25th and February 27th on the Callender Designs Stand – Stand Number MA42.
