The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/346" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Metstrade - 2026">Marine Equipment Trade Show (Metstrade)</a> has announced that visitor registration is now open for its 2026 edition. The global leisure marine trade show is set to return to RAI Amsterdam from 17 to 19 November.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/398841/image/large-7b3a6d14c1ce5a3907a17dc1e2aa9788.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/398841">The exhibition will feature more than 1,700 exhibitors across 13 halls, showcasing the latest products, technologies and services spanning propulsion systems, sustainable materials, smart connectivity and onboard electronics.This year's event introduces a redesigned floorplan, including an expanded Superyacht Zone, a relocated Marina &amp; Yard Zone and a larger Construction Materials Zone, aimed at improving navigation and creating more opportunities for business networking.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/398840/image/large-85a401cecafef1b1f792d36d32c66c55.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/398840">RAI Marine Technology Director Niels Klarenbeek commented: “The 2026 floorplan isn’t just bigger, it’s structured differently to improve visitor experience. By regrouping the Superyacht, Marina &amp; Yard and Construction Materials zones, we’re cutting the distance between visitors and the conversations that matter most to them so they can spend more time in front of new products, new exhibitors and the connections that drive business.”The 2026 content programme will also place greater emphasis on longer-format discussions, with 45-minute sessions followed by dedicated networking opportunities. Highlights include talks on nuclear propulsion for superyachts, practical implementation of environmental regulations and the impact of artificial intelligence on marine marketing.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/398843/image/large-6dc1f9f52e49eb7c733aae6fb9f13505.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/398843">Alongside the exhibition, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/346" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Metstrade - 2026">Metstrade</a> week will once again host industry events including The Superyacht Forum, which takes place from 16 to 17 November under the theme Accelerate the Evolution.Registration is free until 1 November 2026, after which an online fee of €90 (excluding VAT) will apply. Early registrants will also receive programme updates, discounted accommodation rates and access to limited early-bird tickets for Metstrain, the show's dedicated Eurostar carriage between London and Amsterdam.

The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/8923" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Virgin Islands Shipping & Maritime Authority (Company)">Virgin Islands Shipping and Maritime Authority (VISMA)</a> has launched a new Yacht Engaged in Trade (YET) programme, providing British Virgin Islands (BVI)-flagged superyachts with a formal path to combine private use with limited commercial chartering in Greek, Monaco and French waters.The certification, which comes under a newly published <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/8923" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Virgin Islands Shipping & Maritime Authority (Company)">Virgin Islands Shipping and Maritime Authority (VISMA)</a>, only applies to BVI-flagged yachts measuring 24-metres and above.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/285871/image/large-8fcbfd6ecd33123efe76d4c151e81472.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/285871">According to <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/8923" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Virgin Islands Shipping & Maritime Authority (Company)">VISMA</a>, owners may retain their Pleasure Certificate of British Registry while taking on a temporary Yacht Engaged in Trade (YET) certificate for the duration of each charter period, for up to a maximum of 84 days per year. Once the charter concludes, the yacht's pleasure certificate is reinstated without requiring conversion to full commercial registration.<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/8923" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Virgin Islands Shipping & Maritime Authority (Company)">VISMA</a> also stated that owners are no longer required to leave European Union waters to complete new import or export formalities when switching between private and charter use.&nbsp;Under the programme, yachts may operate on either basis during the 18-month Temporary Admission period without further customs formalities, provided the relevant conditions are met. Yachts with VAT-paid status or in Free Circulation are not subject to the 18-month limit.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/363128/image/large-9de6013ee3a3b56cf02c66b85dc42db8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/363128">The programme is intended for yachts already operating to a commercial standard. The Ferretti Group has announced at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024, that it will be introducing 25 new models to its portfolio from 2024 to 2026.

Princess Yachts has unveiled the new 27-metre Princess X90 model.

Doggersbank, in partnership with its European partner <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/526" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Northrop & Johnson (Company)">Northrop &amp; Johnson</a>, has unveiled two new additions to its explorer series at the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/210" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cannes Yachting Festival - 2024">Cannes Yachting Festival</a>: the Doggersbank 90 Offshore and 105 Offshore.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/326709/image/large-95afb28e766ca8d60518a18d45359561.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/326709">The Doggersbank brand was revived by Dutch studio <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/15" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vripack (Company)">Vripack</a> last year.&nbsp;Designed by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/15" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vripack (Company)">Vripack</a>, both models enjoy a significant increase in space and guest features compared to previous models. These include optimised guest staterooms and enlarged crew accommodation for the 90 Offshore. The 105 Offshore, the flagship of &nbsp;the range, will include an additional ensuite guest suite bringing the total to four, including a full-beam owner’s suite, and a third crew room bringing the total to three. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/326710/image/large-58b3c3ff2a21f0f2a51a12cfb1eba148.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/326710">Joost Mertens, Sales Director at Doggersbank, commented on the development, saying, "We recognised the necessity to introduce larger models that can better integrate modern technologies and provide more space for guests and crew.” He further noted, “Our collaboration with Patrick Coote of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/526" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Northrop & Johnson (Company)">Northrop &amp; Johnson</a>, which has been both long-term and productive, identified a market niche for capable, custom-built explorers supported by expert naval architecture. This insight encouraged us to enhance our existing designs and create a model that fulfils this specific demand."<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/326711/image/large-b0373affe8e7cf79c68a6e031b7a9f8d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/326711">According to Mertens, the enhancements in the new models were largely influenced by feedback from Doggersbank owners, who value the ability to host up to eight guests for adventurous maritime journeys.
