“The world has lost a brilliant creator of boats, a master of style, giant in Italy’s industrial and business history. To me, this is a personal loss of a master, an example of brilliance, of commitment and dedication to work,” commented Ferretti Group CEO, Alberto Galassi.

Carlo Riva transformed the Italian boating brand known simply as Riva into an iconic product through models such as Florida, Aquarama, and Ariston. The company, which was founded in 1842 by Riva’s great-grandfather Pietro, changed people’s view of the boat as simply a means of transport into an object of desire.
