CdM launches 43m custom explorer Audace

Audace, known as project K42, touched the water yesterday at the CdM shipyard in Ancona, Italy. The 42.8-metre explorer superyacht was built for an Italian owner who will live onboard all year. The full-custom design includes a unique shape and special features such as the top-deck owner’s apartment, two discos and range of toys and tenders.  Audace yacht launch in AnconaPhoto: Andrea Pili

More specifically, Andrea Pezzini of design studio Floating Life developed the yacht design and naval architecture with Mauro Sculli from Studio Sculli and the owner. Sergio Cutolo from HydroTec supplied the superyacht’s engineering, which was project managed by Domenico Ranieri, who worked in close collaboration with the owner’s representative Andrea Pezzini of Floating Life.  Audace yacht launch in AnconaPhoto: Andrea PiliAudace yacht launch in AnconaPhoto: Andrea PiliThe four-deck layout, including a large tank deck, can accommodate guests in four staterooms: two on the lower deck with balconies and two on the main deck with direct access to the side passages. Affording a one-off project was a challenge we were ready to face. Many more brand new projects are in the pipeline. CdM's team brought its wealth of experience to bring this complex project to completion as scheduled.”    Audace yacht launch in AnconaPhoto: Andrea PiliPowered by twin Caterpillar C32 Acert SWAC EPA T3, Audace is able to carry 62,000 litres of fuel and has a range of 5,400nm at 10 knots.  Audace yacht launch in AnconaPhoto: Andrea Pili
