With a well-established reputation for providing bespoke, top-quality marine elevator services in all shapes and sizes - from elegant superyacht elevators to functional crew elevators, to dumb waiters- Dutch elevator company Lift Emotion celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Behind this special celebration for the company, there stands a decade of innovation within the marine elevator industry.
From its beginnings in 2007 just before the financial crisis hit the Netherlands and the rest of the world, to its delivery of approximately 350 ship’s elevators by 2017, Lift Emotion has come a long way in the last 10 years.
Their ongoing projects include a confidential project in California inside a new theatre, of which details will be revealed soon, as well as custom elevators on yachts in the Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, Australia and the USA. They are also working on several ferry elevator projects, and some on-land deliveries too: including bespoke elevators in private houses across France, Switzerland and the USA.
Notable recent successes for the company include delivering the first of two new-build Lindblad and National Geographic expedition vessels with a fast 2:1 hydraulic inverter driven elevator, and their major conversion of a river boat in the USA, providing the boat with three state-of-the-art elevators in a short delivery and installation time.
In a recent innovation characteristic of the company, Lift Emotion delivered a custom 4 stop elevator which featured a special ‘pop-up’ function and safety system, allowing the yacht owner to travel to the sundeck without the help of his crew. Looking towards their future, in 2016, the company expanded, moving to bigger offices in Meppel, situated in the North-East of the Netherlands.
When asked about the company’s major milestones over the past decade, Lift Emotion’s Mike Brandt told us, ‘I think all of the projects that we have delivered were milestones: this includes approximately 350 ships’ elevators worldwide, alongside some bespoke land based elevators. With starting our company in 2007, just before the financial crisis, we are truly thankful that our clients’ shipyards and end clients kept doing projects with us. This allowed us to slowly grow to the company we are today.’
When asked where the company hoped to be in 10 years, and what we can expect to see from them in the future, Brandt continues, “I think we would just like to continue delivering to our clients and end clients reliable and beautiful projects with the team we have now. We have some special thoughts for a new way of lifting, and we will have a concept rendering at our stand during the Monaco Yacht Show, so come and speak to us about it!’
Lift Emotion will be present during this year’s Monaco Yacht Show on stand QS67 / Darse Sud. Stop by or make an appointment directly at the below contact details.
