Having contributed to the design and build of the largest steel superyacht ever launched in Taiwan, Central Yacht has announced the availability of a 110m dry dock facility in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The facility hosted the 10 year Lloyds Special Survey and the refit of 65-metre Benetti superyacht Ambrosia.
The engineering and cosmetic refit was completed in a ‘short period’ and integrated the superyacht’s original suppliers with the help of local contractors and shipyards. Ambrosia’s refit included repainting, teak deck re-caulking and repair, shell window replacement, interior varnishing, upholstery, marble repair, hydraulics, refrigeration and navigation electronics. The refit was the first time that the ABB Azipod compact unit used on Ambrosia had been removed and opened for service.
