Cerberus Yacht Sonar diver detection launch

Atlas Elektronik UK (AEUK) has announced the launch of their Cerberus Yacht system. An underwater security and safety system, the product has been designed to protect superyachts and guests who would like to dive around the boat using sonar technology.

The system works with sophisticated algorithms which discern between divers, fish and cetaceans; the system only raises an alarm when a potential threat is approaching or guests dive beyond a prescribed perimeter. Cerberus Yacht creates a sub-sea safety zone without the need to deploy a team of specialist sub-sea security divers.

Carl Stone, Product Manager for Cerberus Yacht explains the product evolution, transferring the technology from Naval Frigates to superyachts; “AEUK have been working closely with experts from the Superyacht industry and in doing so we have visited industry leading shipyards and system integrators. We have listened to the end-users and their frustrations with current systems and their needs for the future large yacht projects.

Using our considerable in-house resource and expertise, AEUK have tailored the naval Cerberus system to offer a refined, easy to use, off the shelf and fully integrated solution. Cerberus Yacht can be supplied as a modular through hull deployed system or as an ‘over the side’ lightweight crew deployed system. I am pleased to say that following a thorough and methodical investigation into market needs we now offer a purpose built solution which will ensure Cerberus Yacht becomes the byword for diver detection sonar in the yacht industry.

AEUK has been busy promoting and demonstrating the new product at the company’s base on the south coast of England throughout autumn after being launched at the Monaco Yacht Show. The company will also be showcasing the system at the upcoming Global Superyacht Forum.
