In this series of articles, we take a look at the best charter deals currently on offer in some of the best cruising hotspots in the world. What, Why, Where and Who forms the basis of the articles. This week we look at the 27-metre sailing yacht Firebird available for charter around the Mediterranean from June to September, and for skiing and sailing adventures in Norway between March and May this year.
What is on offer?
The 27-metre Firebird is a new build Oyster 885 RS sailing yacht designed by the British designer, Rob Humphries and launched in Southampton in 2016. On board, Firebird accommodates up to seven guests across four generous cabins, comprising three double ensuite cabins and a fourth ensuite, single cabin. For added flexibility, one of the ensuite guest cabins can also be configured as a study or a lower saloon area. On the Mediterranean trip, you will be accompanied by four crew members, with three crew members plus a mountain guide there to assist you in the Norway trips.
A luxury cruising yacht that has been fully customised for ambitious around-the-world passages, Firebird has also competed in Superyacht Regattas, thanks to her specialist performance deck and rig package. Furthermore, the raised saloon in her design allows her onboard guests to benefit from stunning and unforgettable panoramic views of their natural surroundings.
With power provided by one turbo-charged Cummin QSL 9-M 330 horsepower diesel engine, Firebird has a maximum speed of 12 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots.
Why do we think is such a good idea?
A modern sloop built as recently as 2016, Firebird has been designed specifically for private chartering experiences and offers all of the bespoke amenities you would expect on a yacht of this quality and so much more. With her magnificently spacious and beautifully fitted accommodation which blends seamlessly and stylishly together, Firebird is a real home from home. A truly versatile, ocean-going charter yacht, Firebird offers her guests an atmosphere of tranquil luxury suitable for all the family, whether you want to enjoy the stunning sights of the Mediterranean, take on off-piste skiing in Norway, or catch glimpses of the famous Northern Lights: Firebird has everything you need for a truly unforgettable and unique chartering experience.
But don't just take our word for it, Firebird has received glowing reviews from her guests all around the world. A recent Firebird charter guest had this to say about his onboard experience: “We started chartering sailing yachts years ago and ever since chartering Firebird, we stayed with Firebird! Whether for our summer holidays in the Mediterranean or our winter ski holidays in Norway, we spend them on Firebird. The crew, who have become a part of the family, provide a fantastic service and create such a homely atmosphere, that it makes it very difficult to change! Being able to combine two passions - skiing and sailing - in the comfort of a warm and cosy floating chalet is a truly unique experience. We look forward to coming back next year!” - Alessandro and family.
When is she available?
Firebird is available for charter for ski and sail holidays between March and May this year from €47,700 per week, including berthing, fuel, all food, house wines and a certified mountain guide. For her Mediterranean cruising around Croatia, the Ionian Islands, Italy and Sicily, prices start from € 45,000 per week. Visit Firebird's website for more details.
