Charter deal of the Week: the 36m superyacht Musa

Written by Gemma Fottles

In this series of articles, we take a look at the best charter deals currently on offer, as judged by our very own editors. What, Why, Where and Who forms the basis of the articles. This week we look at the 36.25 metre Musa, available for charter in the Western Mediterranean.

What is on offer?

Built by the Italian shipyard AB Yachts and completed in 2009, the 36.25 metre superyacht Musa features naval architecture and exterior design by Marco Arnaboldi, with Guido de Groot Design collaborating on the latter. Her luxurious interior was undertaken by Barbara Tognon.

On board she accommodates up to 11 guests on board over a large owner’s suite, three twin cabins, one VIP cabin and an additional single cabin. A dedicated crew of five are also accommodated for on board, headed by Captain Valerio Fanciulli. Powered by three MTU 16V2000 M93 with waterjets, she has a top speed of 47 knots and with a cruising speed of 36 knots. Musa’s speed is perfectly suited to scout the crystal clear waters of Sardinia's bays and coves.

Why do we think this is such a good deal?

Maintained in excellent condition, Musa comes with a whole host of tenders and water toys on board for guests to fully enjoy, including a Novurania 5.4 Equator Jet tender, a Yamaha waverunner, snorkeling gear, inflatable towable toys and an SUP board. As an additional value, her home-berth in the picturesque Marina dell’Orsa in Poltu Quatu (just 3nm north of Porto Cervo) is included in her charter rate when cruising Sardinia. This also makes Musa be one of the largest superyachts permanently based in Sardinia and available for charter, hence saving on the usual hefty delivery fees otherwise required to relocate there.

When is she available?

Starting the 1st June 2016, Musa will be based in the heart of the much-sought Costa Smeralda area for the summer, with itineraries available including Naples and Sardinia, as well as both Corsica and the French Riviera. Summer charters are priced at €85,000 per week during low season, and €90,000 per week in high season, plus expenses.
