In this series of articles, we take a look at the best charter deals currently on offer in some of the best cruising hotspots in the world. What, Why, Where and Who forms the basis of the articles. This week we look at the 73.15-metre superyacht Laurel, available for charter experiences with Ocean Independence around the Western Mediterranean this summer. What is on offer?
Laurel was built with a GRP superstructure and steel hull to Lloyds classification by the American yard Delta Marine in 2006 and underwent an extensive refit in 2014. The 73-metre superyacht features both exterior and interior design from Donald Starkey Designs and in-house naval architecture from the Delta Design Group.
On board, she accommodates up to 12 guests across seven luxurious staterooms, comprising five doubles, one twin stateroom and one convertible cabin which can serve multiple functions depending on the needs of the guests, including a massage/spa room, a staff room or a children's room. The stylish owner's suite is located on the main deck and comes complete with a private terrace and balcony located to port and starboard. In addition, convenient elevator access is also available to all guest decks.
With power provided by twin Caterpillar 2500 HP engines, Laurel has ample power, with a top speed of 18.2 knots and a cruising speed of 14.5 knots. Why do we think this is such a good idea?
With the accolade of being one of the largest US-built custom yachts to date, Laurel combines style, thoughtful structural design and effortless luxury, coming equipped with all the amenities you would expect from a yacht of this size and quality, and more, and being offered to the market for charter at a very competitive rate.
For when you want to make the most of life on the water, Laurel boasts a wealth of water toys and sports equipment, including two Sea Doo waverunners, an inflatable slide, kayaks, two Seabobs, an 16' inflatable trampoline and many more. In addition, her separate side launching tender garage allows her aft beach club to be enjoyed exclusively by her onboard guests.
The observation lounge located on the sundeck features an enclosed lounge and forward veranda with cocktail tables and a seated bar for wonderful al-fresco dining underneath the stars. Of course, she also comes with a fully stocked gym and ample deck space available for alternative training. For when you want to kick back and relax, Laurel also comes complete with a library which converts into a private cinema. All in all, with her experienced captain supported by an outstanding crew, your charter experience on board Laurel is sure to stay with you for life.
As Daphne d’Offay, the Charter Broker for Laurel explains, “Exceptional quality is expressed throughout this vessel which can truly only be appreciated when aboard. From the personal touches offered by crew to the exquisite woodwork, fabrics and technology, Laurel is extraordinary”.
Currently crossing the Atlantic and due to arrive in the Mediterranean in early June, Laurel is available for luxury charter experiences with Ocean Independence around the Western Mediterranean this summer season. Her rates this summer start from €425,000 per week plus expenses.
