Chartering the 90m superyacht Nero on the Costa Smeralda

With the possibility of visiting a wide range of destinations in superior style and opulence, this year Nero is ready to bring her guests to the beautiful waters of Costa Smeralda, Sardinia. Her long standing British Captain, Nick Przybylski, leads a highly trained and exceptionally professional crew of 20 who are more than prepared to take you on an unforgettable, paradisiacal journey along one of the most beautiful coastlines of Italy.

With her exceptional design and quality of construction, every aspect of life on board has been considered down to the smallest of details, making her the perfect vessel to experience the idyllic unspoiled beaches of the Mediterranean and a worthy winner of the 2009 ShowBoats Award in the category of Best Motor Yacht Over 75 Metres.

A truly unique and versatile vessel, she can be effortlessly transformed from the most comfortable family yacht into a stunning venue for larger events, with huge deck spaces as well as multiple exterior seating and dining areas catering for both large gatherings and the more intimate moments of life on board. Illustrating this versatility is the yacht’s snug, one of her many highlights. Situated on the sundeck, the snug (pictured above) makes an ideal place to escape from the heat of the midday Mediterranean sun and watch the world go by, or to host a private dinner.

Her 5.4 metre side boarding platform provides an excellent place from which to swim, dive and enjoy her vast selection of water toys in the crystal clear water. Her expansive list of water toys include a 9.5 metre classic tender custom built by Corsair Yachts, 8.5 metre Aquaflyte rib custom built tender, 5.2 metre Nautica rib custom built tender, 2 Seadoo RTX waveriders and a Yamaha Superjet performance jet ski - to name but a few. Nero certainly does not leave room for monotony.

With the various canoes, kayaks snorkelling and diving equipment on board, cruising Nero provides the ideal opportunity for exploration of one of the numerous magnificent islands close by. A short journey away lies Mortorio island, boasting an impossibly beautiful beach with breath-taking snorkelling in the surrounding area. Although very popular in the high season, you can anchor on the rocky coast on the left of the beach. The island of Caprera around 40km from Costa Smeralda also provides several excellent swimming spots, including Cala Coticcio, Cala Napoletana and Barca Bruciata.

Nero elegantly accommodates up to 12 guests in 6 cabins. The Owner’s suite, one VIP suite, two double cabins and two cabins that can each be configured with twin single beds or large double beds. The magnificent master duplex apartment with private lounge and dining saloon, dressing room, his and her bathrooms and private access to the saloon/cinema and office.

All the exceptional rooms also come with en-suite dressing rooms, allowing guests to enjoy the full Nero experience with exceptional style and comfort. This admits guests to peacefully prepare for the glamour of the evening in the privacy of their own spacious quarters.

When the sun goes down, Costa Smeralda comes alive with numerous fashion shows, exclusive concerts, luxurious boutiques, world-class restaurants and the most exciting bars and clubs to discover every night. Nothing embodies Italian style like the Costa Smeralda.

The undisputed centre of Sardinia’s exuberant Italian splendour is Porto Cervo, and though the village has grown substantially since the 1960s when it was built by the Aga Khan, Porto Cervo still manages to seamlessly combine sophisticated glamour with a sense of laid-back cool. Make sure to take in and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views from the Buenavista Café at Abbiadori, as well as lunch at the prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS). For a more casual atmosphere head to Sole e Mare, a gorgeous traditional Italian restaurant serving the best al fresco pizza and pasta in the main square of Baja Sardinia.

As well as the glitz and glamour of the exquisite bars, restaurants and cafes, Costa Smeralda also hosts an array of high profile regattas. The highlights of the YCCS season will be the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup & Mini Maxi Rolex World Championship held from 31st August to 6th September 2014, and the Rolex Swan Cup & Swan 45 World Championship held from the 8th until the 14th September. The season will close on Virgin Gorda in the Transatlantic Superyacht and Maxi Regatta, which will begin this year on 23rd September.

By starlight Nero really comes into her own with subtle interior and exterior lighting, a wonderful sight from the shore line. Not only beautiful to look at, Nero is a strong ship with an efficient hull and the latest stabilisation systems, making her extremely comfortable when cruising and the perfect vessel to enjoy all Costa Smeralda has to offer.
