CL Yachts has announced that its first CLX96 Sea Activity Vehicle (SAV) motor yacht which is currently under construction at their Hong-Kong based shipyard, is nearing completion. Her construction began in late 2020 and she is preparing to be launched next month.
Photo: CL Yachts“It’s all coming together on CLX96 and it will be beautiful when the yacht is completed. The realisation of the designer’s vision is on track, and we are extremely proud of what is being achieved with our very first SAV,” commented Martin Lo, CL Yachts Director.
Pandemic-induced supply chain issues have also proved challenging to the shipyard. “Throughout the significant challenges of the last 18 months, the team has rallied together and found a pathway to building our most complex and exciting yacht to date. We are reaching the final hurdles before CLX96 launches for the first time, and I am looking forward to showing the world the first of our remarkable crossover yachts from this design in the coming months,” added Lo.
The CLX96 SAV features naval architecture by Alfaro Design and interior and exterior styling by Jozeph Forakis. The yacht has already received widespread recognition, having won the award for the Concept Under 40 Metres from the International Yacht & Aviation Awards as well as a GOOD Design Award and a Bronze A Design Award. Director Martin Lo remarked, “In order to be competitive in today’s market, you need to be daring and we believe that the CLX96 is a bold challenge of the status quo in its category.” 
Photo: CL YachtsCLX96 SAV is designed to blend the traditional explorer yacht features while ensuring comfort and luxury style on board. The versatile CLX96 offers open-planned and clean lines. She features a two-level, reverse angled deckhouse to maximise space, whilst her vertical bow further amplifies space down below. 
Photo: CL YachtsDesigned to give an indoor-outdoor aesthetic, she features vast retractable windows and bi-folding doors on her flybridge, leading directly to her large al fresco dining space aft. CLX96 SAV has multiple unique outdoor entertainment spaces, including the ‘Terrezza Portoghese’, a sunbathing area forward of her skylounge, ‘Piazza del Sole’ seating and sunbathing area on her foredeck, and an expansive stern beach club at the waterline with a hydraulically-submerging swim platform.

Photo: CL YachtsHer interior design is stylish yet discreet, focusing on simplicity instead of lavish additions. Her spacious, open-planned main deck hosts her saloon with a full service bar, multiple seating areas and a dining area.

Her master suite will include a skylight while her VIP stateroom will have a virtual skylight, cleverly showing a feed from an on-deck camera to a display screen embedded above the VIP king-sized bed.

Photo: CL YachtsCLX96 is made with a GRP composite hull to ensure enhanced performance of the yacht. She will be powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines, enabling her to reach top speeds of 27 knots and a cruising speed of 22 knots.
