Claasen Shipyards in the Netherlands, renowned for building a wide variety of classic and modern yachts from 60 to 140 feet in length, is currently close to completing the modern 72 ft racer/cruiser Bougainville.
The exterior of this impressive sailing yacht was designed by Berret Racoupeau and the interior comes from the boards of Rhoades Young. With an LOA of 22.07 m and a beam of 5.63 m, Bougainville is a special project for the way she incorporates the very latest technologies and most advanced yacht building methods. The keel is fitted with an hydraulic lifting system, giving the yacht a depth of 2.30 m and 3.90 m, respectively.
Bougainville is being built to the MCA code for sailing yachts up to 24 m and will be CE-A certified.
