Classic Feadship Katja on display at the HISWA in Amsterdam

This week the 19.70 metre classic Feadship Katja is on display at the HISWA boat show in Amsterdam. Over the past four years, Feadship’s Katja has been completely rebuilt by highly qualified craftsman, who combined decades of experience in all trades and aspects of the Dutch yachting industry to restore the vessel to her previous glory. Her refit was overseen by Paul Hoffman, who is proud of the high standard of work carried out on Katja by both himself and his team.

Built in 1966, Katja has been continuously sailing for the past six decades. Described as a ‘Classic Feadship Gentleman’s Yacht’, she boasts a total of 80 m2 of outside deck surface made of superior quality teak, which includes two separate lounge and sunbathing areas and a stainless steel swim platform with a teak deck and outside shower.

Inside, her salon includes a cosy lounge seat and sofa area, an intimate dining area, as well as plenty of sophisticated storage facilities throughout. She comes equipped with modern amenities such as climate control display with air conditioning and heating function, Foresti & Suardi LED light fixtures, and a fully hidden 36” Samsung Intelligent Smart TV. The staircases to the master bedroom and pilothouse come with LED lights with night vision mode and dim function.

The master bedroom features a Queen sized double bed and his and hers wardrobe spaces. Sumptuous surroundings include an alcantara ceiling and beautiful Italian linen wall decoration, ensuring owners a peaceful yet luxurious escape. Guest accommodation includes en-suite bathroom facilities with shower, washbasin and WC, with the floor made from Corian "Belgian Hard stone". She is powered by 2 x DAF 825 TURBO 240 BHP main engines, which have been completely overhauled and converted to specs for modern sulphur free Diesel fuel combustion.

During the recent christening of the yacht at the Feadship Heritage Fleet event at the Feadship Aalsmeer yard, the owner joked that he originally had a budget of just €30,000 for the refit, however, he soon discovered his initial estimation was nowhere near enough to complete the immense project.
