Classic Feadships Seagull of Cayman and Secret Life at anchor

Anchored off Monaco this week, side by side, are the two classic Feadship superyachts Seagull of Cayman and Secret Life. the 40-metre superyacht Seagull of Cayman was built by Feadship Koninklijke De Vries in 1980 to a design of De Voogt Naval Architects. The steel hulled motor yacht is powered by twin 675hp GM diesel engines which enable her to achieve a top speed of 14 knots and cruising speed of 13 knots. The 45-metre Secret Life was built in 1974 by Feadship and underwent refits in 2005 and 2009. Secret Life accommodates 12 guests in five staterooms, as well as a crew of 16.

The cash portion of the purchase price was reduced from $850 million to $551 million after Inmarsat paid a $299 million special dividend to its shareholders in April 2022. The shares issued to the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4064" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Inmarsat plc (Company)">Inmarsat</a> shareholders at the closing represent an aggregate of approximately 37.6 percent of the total shares of Viasat common stock on a fully diluted basis, with no Inmarsat shareholder receiving shares representing 10% or more. In connection with closing of the acquisition on May 30, 2023, Viasat drew down on approximately $1.35 billion of its committed financing package, including a $617 million secured term loan facility and a $733 million unsecured bridge loan. The lower financed amount reflects in part the reduction in the cash component of the purchase price.

The French electrical and electromechanical services company <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7171" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Yachtelec (Company)">Yachtelec</a> has been acquired by the ship repair and maintenance group AMARIX, the owner of MACOR and ETI Services companies.
