The classic motor yacht Lady A in Cannes
Photo: Charl van Rooy / SuperYacht TimesThe 55-metre motor yacht Lady A was built in 1986 by Sterling Yachts in Japan and launched as Southern Cross III. Lady A is one of the most well-known superyachts of her time with her typical Jon Bannenberg styling and an incredible beam of 11.8 metres. Her British owner had the yacht undergo a major 10-month refit at Burgess Marine in 2016 which, amongst minor structural and mechanical changes, saw the yacht receive an exterior facelift, now sporting a light grey hull. With twin 2,000hp Caterpillar 3512B diesel engines, she cruises at 14 knots with a maximum speed of 18 knots.
