Launched at the start of 2015, the 60 metre Amels superyacht Madame Kate has been turning heads around the Mediterranean this past summer season. Even though she follows in the footsteps of Event, the first Amels Limited Editions 199, the Tim Heywood designed Madame Kate features a host of unique on board and design features that sets her apart from her 60 metre sister.
Her elegant yet cutting exterior is dressed in a unique non-metallic pearlescent white paint finish, that perfectly matches the split nature of what Madame Kate is capable of. Her timeless design and cleverly laid-out deck spaces is only one side to this capable and sea worthy vessel. A range of tenders and a heli pad on her sleek foredeck offers endless cruising possibilities to her owners and guests.
“The Owner is absolutely delighted with Madame Kate,” noted the Owner’s Representative Benoit Faure from Yachting Concept. “Of course, the Tim Heywood design is very eye-catching and generates a lot of attention. But the Owner has also remarked on the level of quality on board, which is exactly the giant leap up that he wanted."
Inside, Laura Sessa was chosen by the owners to style their interior spaces; a decision that won them the Interior Design Award at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. “The Owners wanted the level of quality, the timeless and classic high gloss,” she explains, “but with a very fresh influence of their native Brazil with its vibrant colours, movement and joy of life.”
She achieved this through the use of neutral bases that is accentuated with textures, patterns and welcoming bright furniture and artwork. Surfaces are finished in a sparkling high gloss with the addition of polished elements as well.
The full beam stateroom, located forward on main deck, has been decorated with a contemporary mix of colours and patterns while creating a homely environment where the owners can relax with a stunning view on either side through the four enormous portholes. Two further VIP guest suites are found on bridge deck, with another three guest staterooms placed on the lower deck.
