Long gone are the days, when a superyacht was either white, or navy blue. These days, there is a colourful collection of superyachts. We put together some of our own favourites!
One of the most exceptional yachts ever build is the 35.30 metre superyacht Guilty. This tri-deck superyacht is unique in many ways. The designer of the yacht, Ivana Porfiri of Porfiristudio, describes the interior as a collection of ‘white boxes’, characterised by using white corian for the flooring and white paintings for walls and ceilings. These “white boxes” incorporate a multitude of coloured design furniture and art works by famous artists. If the interior is like an art gallery, the exterior camouflage design of Guilty, by Jeff Koons, completes the work, creating a pure travelling work of art.
The 41.40 metre superyacht RC was built by the Italian Baglietto shipyard in 2004 for a well known fashion designer. The exterior lines of the superyacht were designed by Tommaso Spadolini with interior design by Studio Gagliardi. The all-aluminium motor yacht is powered by twin 3,700hp MTU diesels and can reach a top speed of 28 knots.
Oozing personality in a unique and highly individual style, JoyMe was built at Philip Zepter Yachts in 2011. Being a beacon of personal style and with an exciting and refreshing design by Standby Studio under the supervision of acclaimed visionary architect and yacht designer Marijana Radovic, this is a superyacht that joyously transcends her surroundings.
The 36.88 metre explorer styled Dardanella was built by the Vitters shipyard in 1998 with naval architecture, exterior and interior design by Vripack. Dardanella is powered by twin 475hp Caterpillar 3408E DITA diesel engines which enable her to achieve a top speed of 13 knots and cruising speed of 12.5 knots. Her superstructure features a large and colourful artwork.
With race cars and the look of a Dunhill cigarette lighter in mind, one wouldn't necessarily think of superyacht design. Yet, these have been two important sources of inspiration for Heesen Yachts' tenth 37 metres superyacht Aurelia.
Sunrays was delivered by Oceanco, in time for the Mediterranean Summer season. She was designed by the late Bjorn Johansson with an interior by Terence Disdale Design. All exterior decks have been designed to include water features which blend perfectly with the beautifully curved superstructure.
A unique yacht, Giant I began her life as an ocean going rescue and research vessel, with an ice breaker hull. She was built in 1974 in Holland, and was transformed into the ultimate expedition yacht over a four year period at Giant Limited in Mexico.
The 47m Aquamarina passing Antigua on 10 January 2008. The Walter Franchini designed Aquamarina is the seventh ISA 470 yacht and she was delivered to her owners by the end of 2006. Shortly after delivery the yacht left Italy for the Seychelles. Her hull has a special metallic paint finish and her superstructure features a unique pearlescent paint finish.
Celestial Hope was launched on Friday October 17th 2008, at the Heesen shipyard. She was the second hull of the yard's 4700 semi custom series, designed by Omega Architects, and can reach a maximum speed of 24 knots. The interior, designed by design studio Intarya, is set on a contemporary well detailed interior, finished off with luxurious fabrics, furniture and decoration. She was built for the same owner of Quinta Essentia.
The 55 metre superyacht Quinta Essentia was built by Heesen shipyard in Oss. The yacht's striking colour scheme, designed by Dobroserdov Design, of Oyster White and Merlot Red, was inspired by the owner's love for Merlot wine. Michela Reverberi decorated the interior based on a design of Ken Freivokh which incorporates sleek curves, as well as stylish custom made furniture throughout. Powered by twin MTU engines she has a cruising speed of 22 knots and a top speed of 24 knots.
A custom build in aluminum with a semi-displacement hull, the 100’ Red Pearl was built by MCP Yachts and features an interior custom designed by Christina M. M. Norris, Chief Architect and Interior Designer for Oversee Yachts.
The golden DB9 is the first Palmer Johnson 170, launched in 2010. She accommodates between 10 and 12 guests and features an open air cinema with projector as well as a piano in the main saloon. However, her best features are outside. She features two jacuzzis along with a large outdoor swimming pool on the foredeck.The yacht is designed by Nuvolari & Lenard.
The 32 metre Gliss was built by Royal Huisman in 2006, Gliss was designed by Briand Yacht Design with an interior by Pieter Beeldsnijder.
This Majesty 105 has a distinctive exterior colour palette of white and fresh blue, which gives her a delightful and unique personality. The oval shape of the windows on the fore main and lower decks only add to this refreshing image.
Moon Goddess is perfect for cruising the popular yachting hot spots of the world, she boasts twin 4000 M90 MTU engines and Hamilton Water Jets and therefore is capable of speeds of up to 43 knots. Moon Goddess accommodates six guests.
Launched in Sturgeon Bay WI in 2007, O'Khalila accommodates up to 12 guests with 7 crew and shows off a spacious and luxurious interior designed by Nuvolari - Lenard. And yes, the 46- metre O'Khalila is golden.
