Designed with autonomous cruising and a large tender capacity in mind, the new Columbus 40 Crossover is the latest and smallest addition to the Italian brand’s range of modern-explorer motor yachts. The Crossover range also includes 50-metre and 57-metre models, all designed by Hydro Tec.Photo: Columbus Yachts
The yacht’s design moves all guest and entertainment areas forward, leaving the aft section free for the storage of a large tender of up to eight metres in length and 2,5 tonnes in weight along with other large water toys and craft. When cleared and with the bulwarks folded down, the deck is transformed into an open-plan beach club where guests can hang out poolside in an outdoor lounge with an unobstructed view. The sundeck and upper aft deck are two further deck areas where guests can relax in. The sundeck’s forward observation area is perfect to meet in when arriving at a new destination and an outdoor dining area amidships under the cover of the hardtop is an elegant al fresco dining option. The spacious deck spaces lead into a conventional interior layout where guests have access to two saloons, a four-cabin arrangement on the lower deck and a full-beam master suite forward on the main deck. Photo: Columbus Yachts
Designed with a displacement hull shape, bulbous bow and flat aft sections, the 40 Crossover is a comfortable ocean-crosser with a range of over 4,000 nm thanks to a 60 m3 fuel tank. Two freshwater makers can deliver a total of 8,6 m3 of potable water per day, crucial to extended voyages in remote locations.
