Columbus S50 sold by Palumbo superyachts

Palumbo Superyachts, a division of the Palumbo Group, has today announced the sale of a 49.5-metre new build motor yacht project, the Columbus S50. Commissioned by a repeat client and featuring interior and exterior design by Luca Dini Design, the motor yacht is due to be delivered in the summer of 2020.

According to the Italian yard, this new model will be built from an aluminium hull and superstructure, with the build due to take place in Ancona. On board, she will accommodate up to 11 guests across five staterooms with an interior of 499GT and a crew of 11 will also be housed on board, however, the exact layout of the yacht has not yet been revealed.

In a statement from the yard, they described the Columbus S50 as follows: "the exterior design expresses dynamism while maintaining well-balanced proportions, conveying an original style without being over-the-top and ensuring that its aesthetic will never go out of fashion."

Featuring a vertical bow in order to maximise available interior space, the 49.5-metre vessel will also include a saloon designed to let in as much natural light as possible - a key priority for her owner-to-be - with her lowered gunwhales also providing amazing sea views, even when guests are seated on the large sofas.

Power will be provided by twin 2,000hp MTU engines for a top speed of 20 knots and a transoceanic range at a cruising speed of 15 knots.

Other projects under development at Palumbo include the ISA Alloy 43 - also from the drawing boards of Luca Dini design - which is due to launch in 2019.
