Jimmy Broddesson at SuperYachtsLondon has informed us about the launch at Columbus Yachts (a brand of the Palumbo Group) of the all-aluminium 40 metre semi-displacement superyacht Columbus 40M Sport Hybrid. Designed by Sergio Cutolo of Hydro Tec Naval Architecture, the all-aluminium displacement superyacht measures 40 metres and has a beam of 8.20 metres.
"The launch went really well, and her lines are spectacular, and having worked on this project closely together with the owners, we are now all very proud to see the final result", Jimmy commented.
This first hull in the Columbus 40M Sport Hybrid series, is listed for sale with SuperYachtsLondon, and will be attending the Monaco Yacht Show.
"I look forward to welcoming clients on board at the show, and showing them what makes this yacht such a unique vessel. Apart from great looks, she offers some unique technological features, not found on any other yacht her size", Jimmy tells SuperYachtTimes.com.
The yacht features a diesel electric hybrid propulsion system, with the intention of having a minimal impact on the environment and she has a range of 5,000 nm. When delivered, the yacht will comply with latest IMO MARPOL regulations and will be equipped with a bilge water separator even though this is not requested by class.
Inside, the Columbus 40M Sport Hybrid features a modern interior by Hot Lab, and she will offer accommodation up to 12 guests, in four guest cabins on the lower deck, and a large owner’s suite on the main deck.
The 40S Hybrid is the second launch for Columbus Yachts, after the successful launch of the 53.70 metre superyacht Prima in 2011. The Columbus 40S Hybrid will be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show in berth Quai des Etats-Unis E14.
Expect a full report about the yacht on SuperYachtTimes.com soon, but for now, visit the website of the Columbus 40M Sport Hybrid for more details, or contact Jimmy.
