A small local dive glass bottom boat with a single engine was enroute with divers on board to a bull shark dive site in Playa Del Carmen, when it sank after taking on water in rough seas, leaving all divers and crew in the water, drifting towards Cuba for approx 4 hours.

Superyacht Ice picked up the distress signal, calculated where the divers would have drifted to, and found all 8 divers and the boatman alive in the water.

The 90 metre Ice (launched as Air) was built by Lürssen in Germany in 2005 and offers accommodation for up to 14 guests, and 27 crew. She is powered by twin 3400 HP ABB Diesel-electrics, which power her twin Azipods.
