CRN: Masters of the custom superyacht

In July 2020, CRN launched the all-custom 61.9-metre superyacht Voice, and demonstrated to the industry once more, the power of truly home-grown, all Italian, design. Constructed in partnership with Venetian architecture studio Nuvolari Lenard and built at CRN’s Ancona shipyard, Voice is the pinnacle of what it means for yachts to be designed in collaboration with a truly passionate owner. Voice yacht cruisingWhen the beginnings of the vessel were initially agreed upon, CRN were given a highly specific brief by the experienced owner, who had a clear vision of what kind of vessel he wanted. It was down to CRN to define the lines, and they decided, in a demonstration of their raison d'etre, to pool resources from their homeland. With carpentry by the historic in-house team at Zago (a company within the Ferretti Group), and materials sourced from Italian artisanal craftspeople, CRN exploited the wealth of its region to create a fully custom megayacht which stands out from the crowd. This is more than a stylistic necessity however, the sheer bow increases the superyacht’s waterline and her interior volume to an immense 1288 GT. This increase allowed for more generous crew accommodation, with the owner having stipulated that everyone aboard the yacht, including her crew, reside in comfort class. This means that harmful nitrogen oxide pollution is cut down by 70%. In order to accomplish this, CRN’s technical engineering team installed a SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction) system which injects urea in the exhaust system, reducing the formation of Nitrogen Oxide. While this was one accomplishment, the machinery involved needed to be optimised to the maximum so as not to jeopardise the owners spaces, something with CRN achieved to great effect. With the clients main passion for music as a driving force behind the interior construction, a studio-worthy sound system aboard was not enough to meet the mark. The entire vessel was completed with meticulous sound proofing, with 70 tons of insulating material employed, to guarantee a substantial sound reduction of around 55/60 decibels, from the vessel's engines. CRN created fully-custom colours, with a smokey quartz hull, silver sand superstructure and jet black detailing, creating a contemporary, yet elegant, aesthetic. Her distinctive exterior design is complete with a sleek and streamlined satellite mast, providing the owner with unparalleled connectivity and cyber security, certified by Lloyd’s Register of Shipping. Voice yacht launch at CRNVoice is the culmination of CRN’s almost 60 years as bespoke superyacht specialists, and is a demonstration of how their know-how and commitment allows clients to create fully custom yachts, exclusive works of art that meet the vision, talent and imagination of their clients.Voice yacht cruising
