For about a year, the industry has been noting with interest the new activities of dahm international. About a dozen boat shows were visited altogether in 2007. In the past, the “dahm image” had strong links with the decade-long exclusive sales and marketing of Jongert, and later also Benetti yachts. There is no doubt that these still existing contacts with many clients were the reason why - almost from the beginning - several Jongert owners have exclusively mandated dahm international to sell their yachts. These include not only large yachts such as the Jongert 2900M Ameena or the Jongert 30T Black Molly III, but also smaller yachts such as the Jongert 20s L´Aperitif or the Jongert 17ds Confiance.
A major event that has occurred in the brokerage market is the arrival of a new Jongert 2400M, which is also being offered exclusively through dahm international. This aluminium sloop is now being built at the Jongert shipyard and will be completed in April/May 2008.
Shortly after signing the building contract, the owner of this yacht had already decided to build a bigger yacht. Taking into consideration the present shipyard situation, this provides the unique opportunity for the future owner to start into the next season by setting sail on board their own brand new sailing yacht.
The present sales catalogue further lists over two dozen exclusive sailing and motor yachts from reputable shipyards. The “Benetti past” is also having a positive influence here. The owners of the Benetti Tradition Nanou (photo) and the Benetti Classic IF are therefore trusting dahm international with the exclusive charter management.
The new activities also include the opening of new offices in Palma de Mallorca and Zurich, in addition to the renowned head office in Monaco and the agency in Düsseldorf. On the staff front Herbert Dahm has acquired competent reinforcements for the company.
Ralf Burgermeister has been responsible for the Marketing and Sales Divisions since September 2007. Many in the industry will know him already – for nine years, he has been selling mainly Jongert yachts for dahm international in Palma de Mallorca. After working in another industry for five years, he is now back and will be taking over the day to day running of the company from Herbert Dahm.
The sales reflect the positive tendency. In September alone, the 35 metre Benetti Classic Rebellious (now IF) was sold to an Austrian client and the Jongert 20s Ocean Wolf also changed owners. A Wally Power and a smaller Hinckley are currently “under offer” according to information from the company.
