Patrik von Sydow has been named as the new CEO for Danish Yachts A/S, in Skagen. Patrik is a Swedish national and comes from an exceptional background at Director level with a combination of "blue chip" companies and top end global marine industry. He is very much looking forward to taking the helm at Danish Yachts and said, "This is a rare opportunity to come along, to direct and manage an exceptional team of highly skilled people in the commercial marine and superyacht industries. I am delighted with this new position and am looking forward to working closely with both sectors of the industry and flying the flag for the Danish marine industry on the world stage."
Danish Yachts is renowned for building superyachts, such as the four time award winning 38m carbon fibre motoryacht Shooting Star, the beautiful classic J-Class, Ranger, as well as a fleet of Holm Class military vessels for the Danish Navy.
The company has also entered a new market that is very much driven by market requirement- that of building crew service vessels for the offshore wind turbine industry. In keeping with Danish Yachts’pioneering vision and leveraging its specialist knowledge within carbon fibre builds, SeaStrider is now moving into final build stages in the shipyard. This technically advanced solution can boast two firsts – a unique ballast system and the first ever Swath to be built in carbon fibre. The result is SeaStrider Swath, providing a considerably lighter weight, yet extremely strong transport vessel for construction and maintenance teams for the offshore wind turbine farms.
In addition to a new CEO, Danish Yachts has also strengthened its Board, and is pleased to announce a new Board Member, Niels Bergh-Hansen a former Executive Vice President for DONG Energy A/S. Danish Yachts is situated at the northern tip of Denmark in Skagen, in a unique location with a state-ofthe-art purpose built facility.
