Camper & Nicholsons International tells us David Gennett has joined their brokerage team. Born and raised in Nashville, David developed his boating passion at 12 years old during family trips aboard his Dad’s CC Sea Skiff on the lakes and rivers in the Tennessee area.
From then on his passion grew into fishing/skiing a 19’ OB and sailing their 19” O’Day sailboat in Nantucket Sound. At the age of 19 he embarked on a longer cruise, crossing the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean aboard the USS Dewey, DLG-14. During the Tet offensive, he was stationed in the Tonkin Gulf off the DMZ and it is there he qualified on the helm. He then continued up to North Korea where the USS Pueblo was hijacked and 5 months later onto the Barents Sea just north of Murmansk. Upon returning, he and his brother–in-law worked at a multi-location marina with sales and service in Nashville. They purchased the marina in 1979 and sold it in 1990 when he then moved to Fort Lauderdale.
He has a wide variety of experience and expertise not only in the brokerage field but also in new construction. David has won various awards as a dealer and held positions personally as a member of the board in the Florida Yacht Brokers Association serving as President and Vice President.
David will be based in the CNI Fort Lauderdale office.
