De Valk sells Moonen 72

De Valk Sneek in Holland, a part of the De Valk International group of yacht brokers, has announced the sale of the Moonen 72 Aqua Domus.

“As the fifteenth major sale by the Sneek office in the first quarter of 2009, this transaction shows that the downturn need not stand in the way of good business,” says Henk Sijbranda, manager of De Valk in Sneek. “But it is crucial that the right elements are in place. We have excellent yachts being sold at realistic prices and the network required to bring buyers in contact with sellers.”

Another ingredient in the sale was the fact that the owners of the 22.18-metre Moonen had kept her in fine condition. The yacht is now being given an upgrade at the Jachtbouw Zevenhuizen yard as the new owner prepares for a season of sailing with his children and grandchildren. Aqua Domus will be transported to New York for this summer’s celebrations surrounding the city’s 400th anniversary, and then returning across the Atlantic for cruising in Scandinavian waters.

“One final piece of the sales jigsaw in the current climate is that potential buyers can see vessels in the right environment,” adds Sijbranda. “De Valk Sneek has superb facilities including a covered sales marina with eight-metre vertical clearance. In addition to the 50 yachts kept indoors, we have another 30 well-equipped berths outside.”
