Delta Marine’s 72-metre superyacht Albatross sold after being on the market for less than three months. Damon Smallwood from Superyacht Sales and Charter introduced the buyer, while Burgess represented the seller, in collaboration with Luc Khaldoun of KAYZ Marine. This is the first time Albatross has passed hands, as she’s been kept in private ownership since her delivery in 2016.With an excess of 2,000 GT of interior volume, Albatross is one of the largest modern superyachts to be built in the United States. Espen Øino International and Delta Design Group partnered up for her exterior styling and naval architecture, respectively. Her interior spaces, however, were entrusted to the French studio Zuretti Interior Design. Together they created a true explorer with all the thrills and trappings: a touch-and-go helipad, an incredible 7,400 nautical miles and the capability to carry five tenders of up to 8.5-metres.Albatross offers accommodation for as many as 12 guests across six suites; two on the owner’s deck and four on the main deck, where there is also a guest lounge. The superyacht can also carry up to 18 crew and six staff members. The main saloon is capacious and well-lit; Zuretti fitted two lounge areas within the space, both complete with a low coffee table and a cluster of plush seating. Adjoining the saloon is the formal dining area, which can seat as many as 16 guests. Glass sliding doors can seal off the main saloon from the dining room, so it can double as a boardroom.Albatross comes complete with a dedicated deck for entertainment; a long list of amenities, which includes a fully-equipped gym, a swim platform tailored for sport fishing, and a very generous sundeck. The upper deck is dedicated to the owner’s exclusive use and features an owner’s stateroom with aft-facing full-height windows, a vanity table and lounge seating, his-and-hers bathrooms with shower and bath respectively, and a shared walk-in wardrobe.Photo: Ruben Griffioen / SuperYacht Times The owner also benefits from a private aft terrace with a raised Jacuzzi, lounge area and an intimate open-air dining table. Forward of the owner’s entrance and lobby is the owner’s observation lounge, with wraparound views and full-height windows. In terms of performance, Albatross has been equipped with twin Caterpillar 2,575 horsepower diesel engines that deliver a cruising speed of 12.6 knots and a top speed of 16 knots. She’s also been fitted with Quantum zero speed stabilisers, to ensure comfort when arrived. Albatross has been impeccably maintained, undertaking regular maintenance and refit appointments. The superyacht was asking $95,000,000 at the time of her sale.
