Franco Gnessi Architetto has unveiled the Diamond series with the first yacht concept, the Diamond 58. The yacht has been inspired by the military vessels of the Second World War, utilising the efficient hulls and furrowing effect of the sharp bows which allowed the yachts to reach 30-40 knots with even moderately sized engines. The studio ha found that 58 metres is the optimal length for the hull form to be most efficient, and the yacht would be equipped with diesel-electric hybrid engines. The Diamond 58 has modern, contemporary lines and is intended for family use, with large convivial spaces as well as plenty of tender storage for guests to make the most of life on the water. The yacht features a helipad on the aft upper deck, and the aft deck has a hydraulic swim platform that appears from the transom. The main deck aft is also extendable and there are terraces on the side which fold down from the beach club, opening up the interior spaces to the water. The beach club is home to a pool and the superyacht has a cruising speed of around 28 knots, with a zero emission range of about 240 minutes at 10 knots.
