Driving eco-friendly superyacht design with the 42m Solar Dream

Swedish studio Dennis Ingemansson Design joined forces with the Turkish shipyard Ned Ship Group recently, collaborating on the 42-metre catamaran project Solar Dream.

With an ecological ethos and prioritisation of efficiency, the design proposed boasts a 360 square metre solar cell area and hybrid propulsion solution. With a hull constructed from carbon fibre composites and weighing in at approximately 1000 gross tons, the yacht is expected to reach a top speed of 22 knots with minimal output.

With 580 square meters of interior space, Ingemansson says: โ€œSolar Dream offers a luxurious experience, with three guest rooms that can accommodate ten people and double ownerโ€™s suites. Once this smart beauty get into the water, it can become a green icon. โ€ The superyacht also incorporates accommodation for five crew members.
