In a recent development, Egypt has enforced a new regulation that is set to encourage a brand new wave of yacht tourists to visit the country. The country is now granting foreign yacht tourists the opportunity to apply for three-month visas in order to develop yacht tourism further andreplacing their original one-month law.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/241349/image/large-54e320bcd47184c0c180ca77446d3aa2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/241349">According to a statement made by the Ministry of Transport on Tuesday, 25th July, the state’s decision is an attempt to counter the hurdles faced by foreign yacht tourists along the Egyptian coastline. Those who obtained the original one-month visa and were at risk of being unable to leave the country due to technical issues or extreme weather conditions will benefit immensely from the implementation of the extended visa.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/279420/image/large-bbf998564925867f1969943c9439e57d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/279420">In order to take full advantage of this new measure, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs granted yacht tourists the opportunity to apply for the new extended visa through the Yacht Single Window. Egypt’swaterways are connected with Europe, other areas of Africa, and Asia, and under the new decision, yachts can depart the country from any tourist port of their choosing. This is a notable development, given that the previous legislation only allowed yachts to exit from the port where they initially arrived. Gulf Craft to open new yacht service facility in UAE by end of 2024

<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4473" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="STP (Company)">STP</a> Shipyard Palma has announced that construction has begun on an €8 million investment project into the expansion of its technical areas. The expansion project aims to enhance the company’s service capacity, to meet rising demand from the superyacht industry.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/335478/image/large-b187a46e97a3d81a878484f4bd9e51e6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/335478">The €8 million investment will see the facility’s total area grow from 130,000 square-metres to 162,000 square-metres, including an expanded hard standing of 102,000 square-metres and 60,000 square-metres of water berths.The expansion will introduce five new berths capable of accommodating yachts up to 110-metres in length, addressing a key demand in the global superyacht market. CEO Joan Rosselló noted, “Over the years we’ve received numerous requests for berths for yachts of this size, and with this expansion, we’ll finally be able to meet this demand.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/335477/image/large-480ed74c5cb6ded4298ef989d92eb366.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/335477">Currently underway, the first phase focuses on preparing new docking areas and installing the infrastructure needed to support large vessels.
