YCO has announced to SuperYachtTimes.com its appointment as the Central Agency for Charter for the newly launched schooner Elena, a contemporary recreation of the 1928 Trans Atlantic record holder designed by Nathaniel Herreshoff.
Joining the classic yacht circuit just in time for the Autumn regattas is the beautiful and newly launched Elena. Elena has been meticulously recreated using the original drawings by Nathaniel G Herreshoff. Available for charter for the first time during the Voiles de Saint Tropez, Elena will provide an exhilarating experience for anyone wanting to take part in the famous Classic Yacht Regattas of the Mediterranean and Caribbean, or a more gentle cruise in either of these areas outside the racing season. Her extensive sail plan provides plenty of power for racing and cruising alike, whilst her expansive deck space offers plenty of room for race crew or relaxation.
Faithfully recreated according to the original plans Elena provides the feel of a traditional racing schooner. However Elena also includes modern day luxuries below deck, the latest navigation and communication equipment, entertainment systems and air conditioning make sailing her a serene experience, without in any way diluting the thrill of traditional yachting. The interiors reflect the elegance of the yacht’s flowing lines and pay tribute to the Herreshoff designs of the early 20th Century. The full width saloon offers a spacious dining area with fixed seating for ten guests whilst a lounge area to starboard has comfortable settees, bookshelves, a table and a large television as well as a CD/DVD system.
Elena’s fantastic performance under sail will make her a firm favourite at Super Yacht Regattas. Elena will be available for viewings at anchor during the Monaco Yacht Show. If you would like to arrange a viewing or further information for editorial on this magnificent yacht please contact YCO.
