Endless customisations options with the new Swan 98

Potential clients seeking out a unique, performance-driven 30-metre superyacht need to look no further than the new Swan 98 from Nautor’s Swan. Designed to offer the best combination of elegance, comfort and performance, no two Swan 98’s will ever be same, thanks to the endless exterior and interior customisations options offered by the Finnish builder.Swan 98 Photo: Nautor's SwanFeaturing an exterior design by long-time Swan designer Germán Frers, some of the main customisation options externally include the option of a telescopic keel, which when paired with standard twin rudders, reduced draught from 4.9 to 3.2 metres, thereby ensuring the superyacht is able to sail through shallow lagoons, harbours and remote areas without compromising windward performance.  Future owners also have the choice between two different sail plans, with two bowsprit versions and a potential second companionway aft.  Swan 98 Photo: Nautor's SwanNautor Swan 98 exterior designPhoto: Nautor's SwanOnboard, the Swan 98 offers two different interior layout configurations for clients to select from. One sees the owner’s cabin located aft, while the other the owner’s cabin forward, both with three additional guest cabins, each with an ensuite bathroom. For the interiors, Nautor’s Swan asked renowned Genovese architect Misa Poggi developed three unique themes, each of which features the finest Italian textiles and leathers handmade for the company in Italy. All three themes were developed following the same logic and reflect Swan’s DNA. “I ‘dressed’ the Swan 98 with three options that should interpret the trends and desires of those who already love this boat,” says Poggi on the interior.  Swan 98 interior optionsPhoto: Nautor's SwanSwan 98 interior optionsPhoto: Nautor's SwanThe first interior theme is named Timeless Classical White and sees the Swan 98 outfitted with natural materials, such as linen, cotton and leathers in a wide variety of white, natural brown and putty shades. “Cosmopolitan and elegant, it is the most immediate theme of the three to recall the idea of sea, wind and sun,” explains the architect. The naturally light colours are designed to blend with the pale durmast wood to give the yacht a sophisticated feel and create a warm atmosphere. Swan 98 interior optionsPhoto: Nautor's SwanSwan 98 interior optionsPhoto: Nautor's SwanThe second interior, known as Traditional Navy, makes use of delicate fabrics such as linen and soft cotton in navy blue and shaded white and blends them with various shades of tobacco in heavier fabrics like leather. Traditional wood, such as natural teak, is used throughout to create a classical, sailing feel. “Traditional Navy celebrates the tradition of yacht clubs and of the beautiful regattas around the world,” adds Poggi.  Swan 98 interior optionsPhoto: Nautor's SwanSwan 98 interior optionsPhoto: Nautor's SwanLastly, there is Wine Cowes, which incorporates similar light-weight fabrics in deep shares of wine, cowed red and white. Thicker materials, like “drunken” leather and Canaletto walnut, are paired with airy linen and cotton, bringing to mind the Admiral’s Cup and Fastnet Race triumphs of sports sailing.  “Together the wood, the fabrics and different materials contribute to creating instinctively pleasant and precise interiors.”  Swan 98 interior optionsPhoto: Nautor's SwanSwan 98 interior optionsPhoto: Nautor's SwanOwners can also select matching details and furnishing options that feature the same three colour themes. An addition fourth interior theme, named the Spirit of Finland, was designed by the in-house design team at Nautor’s Swan and features an understated, contemporary decor paired with light European oak and walnut floorboards, earthy leathers and natural toned fabrics.  “The Swan 98 is the result of a long and passionate experience of Finnish designers and manufactures,” concludes Poggi.
