This year Monaco based yacht brokerage and charter firm Dahm International will celebrate the 25th edition of their exclusive sailing event, Club Yachting Life Rally (CYLR). This year the event will be held around the Balaeric Island Menora (Spain) from 7 to 10th June. While the official invitations have yet to be sent out, Dahm reports that already 14 yachts have applied for registration.
After 25 years, the Club Yachting Life sailing event -which in the past has also been referred to as the “Jongert Regatta”- remains one of the most popular and traditional sailing happenings on the annual calendar. Herbert Dahm founded the Club in 1987 and the first Club Regatta was held in 1988 from Palma to Cabrera, followed by competitions around i.e. Monte Carlo, Porto Cervo, Corsica, Menorca and St. Tropez, always accompanied by a well-developed entertainment programme.
In the past 24 years, more than 200 different yachts have been part of the CYLR fleet, many of which became regular participants. Since 2011, the event is no longer restricted to Jongert yachts or company clients but open to applications of all likeminded owners of cruising yachts above 24 metres with a true passion for sailing.
After a successful and very enjoyable sailing weekend around Ibiza in June 2011 with 120 guests on-board 14 yachts up to 42 metres, the CYLR Jubilee Get-Together 2012 will feature even more competition and racing legs. However the collective cruising as well as the exceptional evening entertainment programme will remain an important part of the event.
