Exclusive: Nobiskrug and Yachtzoo present 85m project White Lion

The German shipyard Nobiskrug and the superyacht brokerage firm Yachtzoo have teamed up with yacht designer Igor Lobanov and interior design studio Nauta Yachts to develop project White Lion. White Lion is an 85 metre motor yacht with a gross tonnage of under the 3,000 mark. We speak with Guy Marchal from Yachtzoo to find out what makes White Lion so special.

Currently in the engineering phase, Nobiskrug expects to lay the keel for project White Lion in the coming months, setting the estimated delivery time just ahead of summer 2018. “Clients can benefit from an already developed engineering platform that has been designed to be customised to the client’s taste and requirements,” says Marchal. These include custom layout and even structural changes.

Key characteristics of the design allow for very large guest accommodations due to the vessel’s high volume. “Over 130m2 for the owner’s quarters and up to 70m2 for the VIP staterooms are set aside,” continues Marchal. Igor Lobanov created a design that would see guest’s requirements for exterior entertainment areas such as a large beach club and dedicated pool deck with technical areas for the storing of 10m tenders and a helicopter landing facility, easily be accommodated by the platform. Marchal is clearly very enthusiastic about the project, stating, “We are sure that White Lion will seduce a lot of challenging clients.”

White Lion will be constructed as one of the first vessels to adhere to the IMO’s Tier III propulsion requirements, set to take affect in 2016; a standard put in place to keep emissions to a minimum by introducing control technologies such as various forms of water induction into the combustion process.
