The classic 31 metre displacement yacht Sprezzatura, built in 1971, has just become available for charter, following an extensive refit. Sprezzatura, which is mediaeval Italian for 'doing the impossible or difficult with apparent grace and ease', was originally built by Witsen & Vis, to a design by Nicolaas Witsen. The yacht was relaunched in July, following her comprehensive refit to hull and machinery at Monaco Marine, in Beaulieu-sur-Mer.
During the refit, work was carried out on the yacht's hull, and the machinery was upgraded. For example a new swimming platform was built and installed as part of the refit, and wi-fi and new flatscreen television sets and sound systems were put in place.
Inside, her beautiful panelled interior, highlighted by beautiful artwork, was freshened up, a process which will continue throughout the year. New furnishings were brought in to complement the work that was done to restore the fabulous leather sofas and armchairs and dining area. New soft furnishings, linens, and accoutrements are adding lightness and a more contemporary — yet still sophisticated — look to the guest areas.
Sprezzatura is available for charters up to 8 guests, with a crew of 4 to 6. Instead of the normal charter rate of € 35,000 euros per week, plus expenses, the yacht will be available for the remainder of 2012 at € 29,500 euros a week, plus expenses. Contact your charter broker for more information.
