F.O. Design reveals the FX 360 Eco Explorer

Italian design studio F.O. Design, lead by Manlio Formentini, has developed a new 36.50 metre superyacht design focused on offering long range cruising possibilities with the benefit of running off a fuel efficient and eco-friendly power plant.

The vessel is to be constructed using lightweight aluminium revealing a fully loaded weight of only 180 tons. This, combined with a long waterline length, allows the four Siemens electric motors to have the yacht cruise in a zero emissions mode at 13 knots. Power to the motors will be supplied directly by the generators, with the option of relying on battery power during maneuvering in marinas.

The beamy FX 360’s exterior decks have been kept simplistic in layout terms, focusing on having uninterrupted views instead of an over-presentation of deck features. The wide flush foredeck will safely be able to accommodate helicopter landings and can easily be transformed into a open relaxing area when not in use.

High-tech bridge navigation will come as standard to suit her explorer title, with impressive long-distance cruising figures including a range of 4000nm at 12 knots, 30,000 liters fuel capacity and 6000 liters of fresh water.
