The 50.4-metre Feadship superyacht Legacy V has been relaunched and named Emerald, following a major 16 month refit at Balk Shipyard. Emerald yacht refit launchThe De Voogt Naval Architects-designed superyacht was delivered in 1990 and has been regularly maintained with frequent refit appointments over the years. Notably, this is the second time Emerald has been extended.Emerald yacht refit launchReflective of her new name, Emerald has been relaunched with a striking Orion green hull that contrasts elegantly with her pearl white superstructure. Her original interiors by Robert Knack International have been stripped back during this refit and restyled to better suit her owners’ tastes and lifestyles. Emerald yacht refit launchEmerald’s experienced European owners remodelled her general arrangement with a new timeless monochrome interior design by UK-based design studio Design Unlimited. Her new naval architecture and engineering were overseen by Mulder Design. Emerald yacht refit launch“We are at our best when we work closely with our clients and this project was no exception,” commented Marcus Rayner, design lead at Design Unlimited. “The timeless feel of the interior was created using subtle differences in tone and texture, then combining rich dark timber to give a sense of quality and sophistication.”Emerald yacht refit launchEmerald arrived at the Balk Shipyard in 2021 measuring 48.6-metres and received a stern extension to bring her to a total of 50.4-metres. The extra length allowed her to receive an impressive aft cockpit, as well as an additional stairway from the cockpit to the swim platform.Emerald yacht refit launchWith 467 GT of interior volume and six staterooms comprising an owner’s suite, a VIP, two doubles and two twins, Emerald can accommodate as many as 14 guests. Her VIP suite was relocated to the main deck during her refit which provided more crew space across the lower deck. She also has five additional cabins for a crew of 12 on the lower deck and a captain’s cabin on the bridge deck. Once clear, this area can be used as an outdoor lounge and leisure area. Her newly fitted automatic glass sliding doors also connect the deck to the skylounge, and create a seamless transition from her indoor and outdoor spaces.Emerald yacht refit launchDuring her refit the sundeck of Emerald was rebuilt and now includes a large Jacuzzi forward, a cosy seating area and a wet bar. Emerald now includes brand-new navigation, AV/IT and communication systems, as well as two zero-speed Quantum extendable stabilisation fins.

It was because of this familiarity with Feadship yachts and our long-standing relationship with the owners that we were chosen to complete this special refit,” commented Peter Lassche, refit project manager at Balk Shipyard. “The hard-working team at Balk are very proud to relaunch the new Emerald after such an intensive project was completed in such a short period of time.Emerald yacht refit launchEmerald is constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and is equipped with recently serviced twin Caterpillar engines, that deliver a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 14 knots.

Following her delivery, Emerald will join the charter market under the management of TWW Yachts.
