After two days of tight racing action in St Barths, the final race put race crews to the test in a sprint around the island with the hope of separating the close leader board positions.
When the 38-strong fleet crossed the line on Sunday, it was WinWin, Spiip, Wisp, Rosehearty and Koo that claimed top spots in each of their respective classes in the Pursuit Class races. The fleet of J Class yachts enjoyed five races in this year’s Bucket and it was Hanuman, the 42-metre Royal Huisman sailing yacht, that proved faster than any of her sisters.
During an awards ceremony back at the yacht club that evening each of the winning owners celebrated with their crews. The ultimate prize, the famous Bucket Trophy, was handed over to the owner of Spiip who also claimed victory in Les Elegantes des Mers class.
