A fire has broken out at a Damen facility in Antalya, Turkey. A representative of the yard has reported that none of the Damen Yachting vessels have been impacted by the fire.
Videos and images from an SYT reader show plumes of grey smoke rising above the Turkish horizon with parts of the building collapsing under the pressure of the flames.
A statement posted today (16 May) from Damen Yachting about the substantial fire at a Damen building hall in Antalya, Turkey said: "All those on the site were evacuated safely and no casualties have been reported. Thanks to the efforts of the Turkish emergency services, the fire was dealt with quickly."
The Damen building hall suffered a large amount of damage during the incident, but no yachts were damaged. The statement also said that all clients associated with the Antalya facility have been informed about the fire.
