The 24.99-metre yacht Miss Dunia has been severely damaged after a fire broke out onboard in New Bedford, Massachusetts, according to reports from NBC 10 News WJAR.
Photo: NBC 10 News WJARAt the time that the fire sparked at Popes Island Fleet Marina, around 5:00 pm (EST), the yacht was carrying 500 gallons of fuel (approximately 1,900 litres).
Photo: NBC 10 News WJARFire Chief Scott Krueger told NBC 10 News WJAR that putting out the fire will be a, “Long operation. Very complex operation. Manpower intensive.” He continued, “ Environmental impact-wise, we have to mitigate that as much as possible.”
